Barcode Recycling Trash Can

Ever been confused about which bin your recyclable garbage goes in?  Well, your not alone.   Apparently this was a large enough problem that designer, Woo Seok Park, created a barcoded set of recycling bins.   If you have some trash and you are confused as to which bin it goes in….well fear not.   Mr. Park created this unit just for you.   Simply scan the trash item’s barcode on the scanner mounted on the unit and the correct trash compartment door will open allowing you to safely and effectively play your part in being “green” and saving the planet.  These are perfect when you are trying to figure out which bin depending on if you have paper or plastic.

Wow, this is interesting. I have to admit that I might need the barcode scanner with the symbols on these recycle trash cans, they look a little confusing. I wonder if these are displayed anywhere yet? I live in Florida and we need more recycle trash cans in public places.

Thank you for the great post!

They are pretty aren’t they!?! I don’t believe they are actually installed anywhere yet. At this point they are just prototypes from the mind of a designer. Perhaps at some point, a reworked version will be in many homes.

Those are very cool looking, but way too much tech for a trash bin. Just use a sticker or color code your bins!! My take is we want to simplify stuff to move towards greener living.
