Terracycle, a New Jersey based company, creates fertilizer using worm poop. The worm poop is certified organic and is sold at home and garden stores, such as Home Depot, around the country. The eco-friendliness of their product doesn’t stop there. The bottles the fertilizer is packaged in are old soda bottles which are collected from elementary school fundraisers. Schools are paid five cents for each bottle they collect for Terracycle. Terracycle was started by CEO Tom Szaky when he was 20 years old. Terracycle has even partnered with Kraft to create a line of recycled products such backpacks, handbags, and binders using recycled packaging made from Kraft products.
