Peugeot 888: Transforming Green Car

I was the world’s largest transformer fan as a child, so you can imagine how thrilled I was to see the news from Peugeot.  They have designed a shape shifting car that is the ultimate green car.  The futuristic Peugeot 888 concept car is super flat, aerodynamic, and fast when driving on the highway.  When it gets to the city, the Peugeot transforms using a hydraulic tilting system to decrease the length of its wheel axis.  The smaller horizontal size improves maneuverability, increases driver visibility, and reduces the amount of space the vehicle needs on the road.  Lithium ion batteries in the trunk charged by energy from solar panels are used to power the electric motors moving each of the 888’s wheels.  All this and it still has room for 2 people, their luggage, and possibly Fido.

Ben, Transformers were pretty cool back in the day. This card reminds me of Batman’s car in the ‘Dark Knight’. The ‘Bat Car’ did something similar where it shifted shapes depending on the terrain and various maneuverability requirements. When you get the Peugeot 888 be sure to come over and let me drive.
